Programming has arrived in the app!
Gym members can now search for gym programmes, see their list of programmes, review the progress of an active programme and complete programmes.
Searching for Programmes
Searching for a programme couldn’t be easier. Programmes uses the already familiar goals - Get Fit, Get Healthy, Get Strong and Get Slim. As programmes have a set duration and workout per week gym members can search for suitable programmes based off their goal, target date and availability.
Each programme in the search results can be previewed to see the weekly structure and gym members can also preview any and all workouts in the programme. If the programme is of interest then the ‘Download’ button will download to the members list of programmes.
Once a member has downloaded or been sent at least one programme from a trainer they will be able to see and action them. The member can access their programmes via two ways - Side Menu ‘Programmes’ or the Bottom Menu with the programmes icon. Either method will navigate to the ‘my programmes’ view.
The basic sorting of the list is to present any active programmes first then any ‘template’ programmes by date order - most recently active/downloaded will appear towards the top. The programmes view is also split into two different views - current programmes and completed programmes.
Completed programmes again will list all programmes that have been completed by the member. All completed programmes can be reviewed to see the progress at point of completion and ability to review all workouts either completed or outstanding within. This is read only, the programme cannot be continued once ‘completed’.
Reviewing a Programme
When searching for a programme, starting a programme or reviewing a completed programme selecting anywhere in the programme block will display all the information about the programme - name, goal, full description, weekly/workout breakdown and ability to see every workout within.
Each workout is represented as a number always starting with 1. Members are expected to work through the programme in a sequential manner (workout 1, then 2, then 3 etc.) but this is not restricted, therefore, a member could start any workout and repeat a workout as many times as they like. All workouts regardless of sequence or repetitions is recorded within both the programme and the fitness feed.
Starting and Following a Programme
Starting a programme is a straightforward process; download a programme, review it from your list and select the ‘Start Programme’ button. This will instantly become active and its workouts can be completed.
When active, each workout can have one of three colours that correspond to a status within the programme:
- Light grey (with green tick) - workout completed
- Green - next workout in sequence
- Dark grey - future workout
Selecting any workout even if already completed, next or future will allow the user to review/preview the workout and start it. Completing a workout from within a programme is the same process as completing a standalone workout. Once a workout is completed the programme progress will automatically update. This is calculated based on the number of sequential workouts completed vs the total number of workouts in the programme.
Completing a Programme
A programme can be finished at any point, it does not have to be 100% completed. If the programme is active and the progress is less than 100% there is a ‘Finish Programme’ button found after the final workout.
If the programme progress is 100% then the ‘Finish Programme’ button will replace the next workout suggestion button.
Once a programme has been finished it will exist within the completed tab as described above and the member can repeat the programme by making it active again from their main list.
